WHY YOU MAY NEVER BE EMPLOYABLE UNTIL... III
by Adedoyin Shobo
Where are the jobs?
Why can't I get a
decent life for me?
Twenty
years or more of one's life in an empty rat race running like a hamster. Running
at an all-time high, believing that a brain washed education will bring that
life. You know that life that is T.V-worthy – fast and sexy.
But
what did the people that say you are not employable expect?
We
are the product of the colossal failure in the educational policies and
extension, the whole institution. Brain-washed education. Education for the Stone
Age man running with rag-like fabric fastened to his loins with a stone tipped
spear trying to kill a wooly mammoth many times its size. But is it not true on
Y2k-plus-18-earth we deal with real problems that this archaic education for
the weak and dead can't solve.
Education
is a big mess in this country. Teachers aren’t paid. On the other hand, teachers
are paid that should not be paid a kobo from our national treasure. Frigging
men that should be dancing rumba naked in the tropical rainforests of Africa
but we give a coat and tie to serve as administrators. They wouldn't do
anything about a damn thing on education and would still come out on national
TV saying the government is working on a very good program.
"Our
program is to build more universities to expand the coverage of our well suited
brain washed education"
Can
you imagine the haughty megalomaniac epithet?
Mr.
Administrator, is this a frigging joke?
We
must be blind. Blind to believe that an obsolete education that only saw
mankind come out of the jungle to build the first archaic civilization would
save us from this real cancer we have here in the year 2018.
I
paid my way through school (of course not tuition fees and stuff), Egunje for assignment, projects,
handouts. All sorts of extortion and exploitation. I knew many of my colleagues
that clinch to marijuana, tramadol and other chemicals (#science student) to
appease a system that don’t even care they or their families perish.
Today
I see them in the market selling recharge card...doing the most debasing job
only a sick mind can muster. I don't greet them. Not at all, I am ashamed of
them and they are also ashamed of me.
My
sisters!!!
Let's
face the fact that many of my dear sisters face barefaced sexual harassment
(some actually going the length of having coital relationship with their supposed educational
torch-bearers) on their way through from colleges and varsities till their periods...the
substances of their womanhood don't mean shit to them.
Ask
them when you see them. Somehow concealed beneath that makeup are sultry tears
of regrets and lost years. In their eyes piled shadows from the flames of scorn and anger.
The anger that made sleeping beauty on her sixteen birthday became a tired mistress in her 20s. Who's ready to marry anything that urinates with its two legs standing. It's just unwieldy.

I
hear friends say let's take that form. Let’s enroll for that program. Maybe I
can point them to the dummy series – take
endless Masters and doctorate degrees for dummies (101).
Dummies
with degrees beyond the calibration of a thermometer that cannot find lasting
solutions to our incessant power wahala.
Dummies
that plunge us into this economic mess and progressively reducing our
purchasing power...that make us buy worthless stones for the price of gold in
the global market.
Dummies
that don't have the cure to anything but can market local and foreign killer
drugs from indigenous and foreign pharmaceutical companies.
Dummies
that can't write a simple code but can barrage you with textbooks of failed
experimental programs from the West.
Dummies
don't have the mind to create anything but wait on aids from abroad, squander research
grants and encourage Ponzi schemes.
These
are the ones that would lead us tomorrow - better tomorrow. Are you serious
right now?
Tomorrow will be a
paradise - heavenly one. Colourful skies… Tree bearing all sorts of fruits;
industries with safer fuels; good roads; safe and equitable healthcare system
that covers both the high and low in any society.
Exemplary leadership
in our homes, religious centres, government as a whole. A great Nigeria not
barely getting-by on one black slickly oily matter.
A developed nation
that enriches and nourishes all nations of the world, feeding the earth and
giving other countries aids and grants that they can grub on too (joking).
A Nigeria that is a
blessing to itself and the world at large.
‘Think
of this. Do you really see this? ‘
‘Are
you sure?’
‘Like
is that your final answer?’
‘Even
with this brainwashed education?’
‘Ok!
Let’s talk a break…’
