HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR BUSINESS EFFICIENCY

HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR BUSINESS EFFICIENCY

(AVOIDING THE FIVE SINKHOLES)

There's nothing we hate more than a snicker, a cynical remark and a thoughtless, insensitive vocalization of the dark thoughts of a business person (using Nigeria as a case study). For starters, I am a budding entrepreneur (can't really claim to know much of anything. Right?)
Being on both sides of the spectrum, that is, as a passionate consumer and an enthusiastic service provider have revealed a number of sinkholes in the average Nigeria market today (local or otherwise).
#Not being sincere (We see the eye rolling…the body language and trust me, it shows like a picture behind a plane glass).

#The “Mad-as-a-Hatter” attitude: I don't think you need to be in business if you get easily irascible at the slightest provocation.

#The Haughty Snob: Come on! You’ve got to learn to be courteous to matter what (we know it is not in your character to say 'thank-you' for nothing but you must change that mentality).
Also we hear people say ‘Ah!  my sorry is very expensive o’ (emphasis on EXpensive). A lot of people don't share that sentiment. If you are too big to climb down from your high horse, maybe you should put a sign out like ‘Not for all Caste.’
Let your thank-you, excuse me, please or sorry, be copious like the sands of the Sahara desert. It would make a world of the difference compared to a haughty snotty ogre. Above all it makes you intimate come across as your client, human and empathetic.

#The ‘cold-as-ice’ person: Lastly, the issue of emotion. I imagine in fact that emotion is like the queen while logic is the prime minister. You can recall a time you went shopping (or you needed particular services and ended up paying more than the original amount). It happens to the best of us all the time. I smile sometimes when I look at item purchased. The value on the item somehow seem to grow from the satisfaction or gratification I derive from buying such item).
This is the power of emotion at work. Don't we just like people that see and say the nice things to - and about us? We love caring people; folks that are congenial in their personalities. They see what we seem to overlook in ourselves.

What do you think about my list? Trust me there’s more…
So just like that Dolly Parton song says 'you've got to try a little kindness'
Refuse to be narrow-minded. Run your race without all 'em baggage of bitterness, haughtiness and false sense of grandeur.
Try a little more kindness today and see a whole new world of dramatic changes happen to your business life.
Disclaimer: note that these list is only a personal opinion and not the HOLY GRAIL!!!
